Tennessee Walker
Actually in "Cowboy Princess" written by Roy's daughter, Cheryl Rogers-Barnett who was his first child, she was adopted by Roy and his first wife who passed away after they had a child together. She writes in her book that Trigger was a registered palomino, which means he was registered a color, not a breed. You can do that, I own a registered Pinto, that is only a color same as Palomino is only a color, not a breed. She goes on to quote her father Roy, quote, " He was about three fourths thoroughbred and a little bit what Dad said was a "cold blooded mare" that's an old horseman's word for a mutt: just a mixture of breeds." unquote. Not to confuse anyone, Trigger was not a mare, he was a gelding.
