You are permitted to have your children take antidepressant drugs but they should be closely monitored. These drugs will normally have a "black box" warning, which is the most serious type of drug warning. It warns that taking the drugs will increase the risk of suicide in children. Because the youth have not fully developed their neurological and hormonal systems, the drugs can result in very detrimental effects to the body. Using these medications can prove very risky for there may be safer alternatives. They are meant more for the adult body instead.
