No.
Federal taxes are never deductible from Federal taxes! (Even if you paid them the year they were due. Certainly paying them in a later year won't produce a benefit).
CAN I FIND OUT THE REFUND AMOUNT I GOT FROM CONNECTICUT STATE TAX IN 2007
October 15, 2008. After that date, both the return and any taxes due are late. If you are due a refund, there is no penalty.
Blank federal forms for 2007 are here: http://www.irs.gov/formspubs/article/0,,id=182756,00.html You can probably find blank state forms here: http://www.taxadmin.org/fta/link/forms.html (If not, just call your state tax agency's general information line and they will mail you the forms you need.) Fill out the forms and mail them in. Unfortunately, you will need to pay for a postage stamp. If you like, you can download a free copy of the 2007 TaxCut Basic federal software here: http://download.cnet.com/TaxCut-Basic-2007/3000-2047_4-10608490.html While you can use the software to prepare your federal return, when you are done you will have to print out the completed forms and mail them in.
i think if you don't owe taxes for 2007,but owe taxes on prior years you should still get a stimulus check as long as you are making monthly payments on what you owe.
Purchasing a house is not tax-deductible.You can deduct mortgage interest (which you do not have) and property taxes. If you received a property tax credit from the seller, which appears on the settlement sheet from your closing, you must net that against any taxes you paid during 2007. If there was any credit for taxes due in 2008, net that portion of the credit against property taxes you pay in 2008 to figure your deductible portion.
Yes, provided you are itemizing deductions (schedule A).
No. While State taxes are a deduction to Federal income and hence may change your tax due to the Feds, your Federal tax does not effect your State taxes in any year.
No. In the U.S., individual taxpayers are generally considered "cash basis" -- that is, we claim income the year in which we receive it, and expenses the year in which we pay them. So, property taxes paid during 2007 for any year are deductible only on a 2007 income tax return.
No, each year has to be filed separately
because the Homestead rebate website says it's based on taxes accessed in 2006, but i did not own the house in 2006.
No, typically property taxes, real or personal, and taxes paid to states/localities are deductible as a Schedule A Itemized Deduction.
If you still owe that money, your refund will probably just get deducted off your taxes.Read more >> Options >>http://www.answers.com?initiator=FFANS
If you mean the stimulus payment, no. It is based on your timely filed 2007 tax return.
