You cannot get AIDS from a trash can. You can only get aids if you come into contact with the blood of someone with aids.
There is a very slight risk that IF you touched the bloody tampons in a trash can and IF you had an open cut on your hand/finger and IF the female had AIDS, you could maybe contract AIDS. BUT all those factors would need to be in place. ALSO, and more importantly, if you are responsible for dumping trash then you know you have a responsibility to yourself and others to wear gloves AND to wash your hands immediately after removing the gloves. So with gloves, handwashing, and proper removal of trash, your chances of contracting AIDS from a tampon trash receptacle are slim-to-none.

AIDs (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) is only contracted by someone who has HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus Infection) - I believe you mean HIV, but this cannot be contracted from a toilet seat, only via contact with bodily fluids such as blood, semen, or vaginal fluids. HIV cannot survive on a toilet seat, let alone enough to get onto a tampon and survive in a high enough concentration to then infect the person using the tampons.
If a person is using a tampon and it touches the inside of a toilet bowl then they should immediately throw away the tampon - using the tampon would introduce bacteria into the vagina, increasing risks of vaginal infection and Toxic shock syndrome.

∙ 8y agoAIDS is an illness that occurs as a result of HIV, you can contract HIV from a used tampon but not AIDS. Any sort of blood or other bodily fluids such as discharge could contain HIV and thus be a risk. However to contract HIV from a used tampon you'd have to have it in contact with mucus membranes like your mouth or a fresh cut in your skin - and why would that happen?
