I am faced with a similar situation. I need to fast 14 hours before my blood work, and I would like some iced tea. I have only been fasting for 4 hours, so I still have 10 hours to go.
I called my brother-in-law, who is a doctor in Minnesota, and he said it was fine to have the tea tonight (as long as nothing is added to it). However, I cannot drink the tea tomorrow morning before the visit. Only water.
