I had a giant cell tumor of the tendon sheath removed about a month ago. It was done under light sedation, and I wore a bandage with stitches for almost 2 weeks.

After the stitches were removed, I had an ugly scar and was sent to therapy a week later. There was some pretty significant swelling that was reduced with ice & heath therapy. Moving my finger, at 5 weeks post op is still a challenge...swelling and the formation of scar tissue are the biggest contributors. Do the exercises your therapist shows you, massage the scar often, and start using the finger as quickly as possible to prevent siffening of the joints. Good luck!
