Technically, no - it needs to be a rewritable (RW) rather than recordable (R) disk. However, if you want to erase files because you want to get rid of the disk and have it recycled rather than destroying it, it may be possible to overwrite the files that already on there with something innocuous (like a PDF file of a book), provided the disk hasn't been closed after writing.

Depends.....

Look at the front of the disk. If it says "CD-RW," then the answer is yes. If it says "CD-R," then no.

CD-RW stands for Compact Disk - Rewritable; meaning you can write to the disk, erase, and then rewrite to the disk if necessary.

CD-R stands for Compact Disk - Recordable; meaning you can write data to the disk only once.

yes but you need software.

you have to put the cd into the driver, then open up your burning software.

it will read your disk. i use Windows Media Player. to put a song on it, drag the son onto the burn list on the right hand side. once you have finished, click burn
