There is no proof of anyone ever playing as venom in the game, even though all 100 meteorites have been collected.
However, the rumor still remains. If you collect all 100 meteorites, you must go into the sewers and find a black liquid. Then you can play as venom, so it has been said.
However, mostly ANY faq or walkthrough on this game either don't mention you being able to play as venom, or just say you have to collect all meteorites!
