It should be safe to dry clay in a microwave, but it would not be practical. The clay won't get dry at all. Using a regular oven, or just leave the clay on a shelf would be the best bet to dry clay.

Put the leaves between 2 paper towels and put them in the microwave for 30 seconds on low power.2. Take them out and see if they are dry.3. If not, stick them back in for another 10 seconds and repeat if necessary.
