Simply putting it...yes you can. However, the experts will always recommend using a heat gun, which can be purchased from your local hardware or auto parts store for a fee ranging from $30-80. The major difference between using a heat gun as opposed to a lighter, is that with a heat gun, the job will be a bit more clean, more professional, and less chances of burning your hand, or burning the shrink tube. If your job is small, and investing in a heat gun is not worth your while, then I do recommend using a lighter, it will achieve the same result.
Glass tubing is exactly what it sounds like -- a tube made of glass. Glass tubing comes in all shapes in sizes, with tube diameters or just a millimeter or less up to very large tubes. It can be used for a number of things. I can be used to carry both liquid and gasses. With a triangular file, it is possible to break glass tubing into smaller pieces. Using a hot flame from a Bunsen burner, it is possible to bend glass tubing into other shapes.See the Web Links to the left for more information about how to use glass tubing.
A second answer is supplied in the section that says NOTE. Read it before attempting repairs. This from a specific brand so may not apply to ALL Liquid solder, but I would think it does: Permatex 25906 Liquid SolderResists water, oil and gasolineFills small holes or rust perforationsEasy-to-use - no heat or tools requiredContains no conductive metal; Not to be used for repairsSuggested Applications: Broken weld lines, trunk compartment or other body parts, battery trays, floor panelsNOTE: No reputable appliance repair shop would use liquid solder on power cords for irons or anything else. The cord is generally replaced as a whole. If things are tight, using a soldering iron and electrical solder can work, but use shrink tubing to close off the joint. (Electrical tape can be pulled loose too easily.) Don't forget to put the shrink tubing on before soldering the wires together. It's kinda hard to put it on after the joint is made. There are tutorials available online for those who might wish to get up to speed before taking on a project like this.
you can fill a butane lighter with lot's of things but you only want to use butane or (only if you have an adjustable lighter) propane. some of my freinds tried Ethane and they could either get it to burn a lighter up or it wouldn't light so it's hard to balance if you use that. I PLAY WITH FIRE :)
We can use a diamond (or other very hard material) knife glass cutter.
Most commonly it's used to score small diameter glass tubing before breaking it so that it will break cleanly instead of shattering. Don't attempt to saw through the tubing with the file. If it won't break cleanly with a light score, you'll need to use a different technique such as scribing followed by thermal shock.
Heat shrink tubing protects items by forming a snug covering around them, providing a strong barrier against environmental hazards and chemicals. It is flexible in terms of how many applications it has. A piece of tubing is placed over the items, then heated in an oven or with a tool such as a hot air gun. You can also use a soldering iron or a cigarette lighter to provide heat, but these methods aren't as effective. The heat makes the tubing contract to as little as one sixth of its original diameter.
The main uses for a heat shrink wrap is the wrapping and storage of equipment including boats, bridges and food packaging. There are endless uses for heat shrink wrap.
Yes you can provided that the tubing has is tested for high heat.
If you mean the two clips glued to the bottom of the window, they can be removed by heating them with a hair-dryer-type heater. I use a heater designed to shrink heat-shrink tubing. Move the heat gun around as you heat them so the heat isn't focused on one spot. The heat softens the glue. Once nice and warm, gently prying with a wooden stick will allow the clip to be removed. I then use a single-edge razor blade to finish removing the glue residue.
Solder the wires together and use heat shrink to insulate the soldered connection. You can buy heat shrink at any auto parts store or hobby store.
Typically electricians use a type of tape known as electricians tape. This can be bought at any hardware store or dollar store, and is designed to insulate and shield electrical wires properly.
i am not sure but i think the drive some kind of tubing deep into the earth and use the heat from the earths core
Use a waterproof insulator once you find the break. I used a butt splice with heat shrink tubing. To find the break, see this link. It worked for me once I found the right frequency of the fence after installing the RF Choke. http://www.instructables.com/id/How_to_find_a_break_in_an_invisible_dog_fence/
Cotton clothing can shrink if you use a high heat setting. To avoid shrinking, either select a lower setting or hang clothing and allow it to air dry.
hay you should use an iron, hot stove not oven and also fluid from a lighter..
h2o tubing?
if it is real leather, wet it
