It's possible but not a good idea. The cord itself would have to be custom made. It would be a better idea and the same amount of work to just by a longer cord. They are sold in various lengths and easy to install.

No the rating on the dryer cord is for 30 amps. The rating of a range cord is 40 amps. The range cord will allow too many amps in your dryer, giving your crispier clothes but a dryer that gives up the ghost sooner.

Yes, you can. But you can only use a heavy duty one (usually yellow or orange). If by any chance you try one and it heats up disconnect it.

No, you can not use an extension cord for an electric dryer. There is not enough wires in the cord. You would need a 4 wire cab-tire rated at 30 amps. Home extension cords at the most are rated at #12 conductor and that is only good for a draw of 20 amps.

Yes, but it is strongly discouraged due to the high amperage drawn by a microwave. You do not want to have an inadequate extension cord catch fire while using the microwave! Also some microwaves may damage themselves if the can't get adequate current through the cord when needed.

If the cord already on the microwave just will not reach the nearest outlet when you have the microwave as close to the outlet as you can put it, and it is not possible to have an electrician install a new outlet just for the microwave; buy the shortest 3-prong appliance grade large wire-gauge extension cord you can find that is long enough to reach the outlet. Such an extension cord should never be longer than 4 feet (most sold in stores are between 2 .. 3 feet long).

If it still can't reach, you will have to get an electrician to install a new outlet. While he is there you might also have him put that outlet on its own separate 15A breaker, just for the microwave. (although if your kitchen is already on a 20A breaker this is probably not needed)

Remember the most common household outlet is rated for 15A and typical modern microwaves can draw between 10A to 13A when operating on full power. Operating a microwave and another kitchen appliance on the same circuit (and most kitchens all the outlets are on the same circuit) at the same time has a good chance of popping the circuit breaker. (e.g. my stand mixer pulls 4A and if the microwave pulls more than 11A, using them both at the same time in my kitchen will pop the circuit breaker)

Is an adapter to go from a 3 prong dryer outlet to a 4 prong dryer cord available for purchase?

I would not recommend trying to use an extension cord for a dryer. the better option is to either buy a longer cord that is properly sized to deal with the extra distance or have an electrician come out and either move the outlet or custom make you a longer cord for your dryer.

How do you set up outdoor Christmas lights?

You have to get an extension cord and plug them into it and then plug the extension cord somewhere in your house, if you do not have some type of outdoor outlet. You might try to get the extension cord through a window and then close the window as much as possible.
