I fractured the pubic ramus - upper & lower-non-displaced with no surgery 10-18-08. I have intense pain down the inside of my right leg likened to a knife cutting deep into the leg almost to the knee. I also have intense numbness and pain in the outside of both legs from the hip to the knee. Is this common in this type injury? I have to cross my legs to get out of bed in the morning the pain in so bad in the inside of the right leg. Please advise. Thank you.
A serious pelvic fracture can be a life-threatening event requiring emergency medical care and lengthy rehabilitation. May involve damage to nearby internal organs.
A pelvic fracture is a break in one or more bones of the pelvis.
Fracture acute
Well, even a blow to the pelvic region is painful, Then a fracture would obviously be way more painful. So, yes.
Fracture acute
The prognosis for minor pelvic fractures is excellent, with most people gaining full mobility in a matter of weeks or months.
A stable fracture is one in which the pelvis remains stable and involves one break-point in the pelvic ring with minimal hemorrhage.
Chronic means having a problem a certain length of time. So, a chronic fracture means that you may have had a fracture months before you realized it and treatment began. It can also mean that your fracture is not healing in the time that the doctor thought it would.
The ICD-9 code for chronic pelvic pain is 614,9. However for regular pelvic pain the ICD-9 code is 625,9. The pelvic pain that persists for a period of 6 months or more to be considered chronic while less than this duration is considered acute.
