OK, get a piece of string about 600mm (2 foot) long, tie a steel nut (from a bolt) on one end. Hold the string / nut ABOVE the tree. If the nut starts to rotate, the tree is a 'B' type. If the nut swings back and forth, it's an 'A' type! This also works on tree branches, if the tree is too tall. Some people say you have to use a wedding ring on a piece of string or cotton, but you don't. BH
