First let us define a chair as " a stable, raised surface primarily used to sit on".

Short answer? No, I did not. But I would be happy to accept a few thousand years worth of back royalties.

Long answer? It would be difficult to pinpoint whom invented the chair as chairs of one form or another have been in use since before history was well recorded. Indeed chairs of one form or another have been used since man decided that it wasn't a bad idea to stay in one place for a while.That being said someone named "Daniel Munt" would not have invented the chair as surnames were not in common use before recorded history.

Unless said Daniel Munt was a time traveler, and I am not saying that I am not, it would be quite impossible for him to have invented the chair. However, a better question to ask would be did Daniel Munt invent a type of chair? Specifically an unknown person suggests (which is always a reliable source to start with) that he/I invented the wooden chair. Again historically that would have existed before there were surnames and even before the isle of Wight was named. But could he have invented a chair type. It is quite possible. If you search patents for chair, you come up with some 30,000 patents. And that is probably only going back about a hundred years. Imagine how many variants have been 'invented' since the dawn of humanity.

Overall. He didn't invent "the chair" or even "the wooden chair", but he may very well have been like thousands of other people and laid claim to a minor or even major chair innovation.
