pat nixon did not know about water gate scandal
Certainly he knew enough about it to know that full disclosure would result in his successful impeachment and removal from office. He chose to resign.
yes
This term came from the breakin of the Watergate hotel that was used as site for the Democratic party during Nixon presidency.Subsequent history has proven that breakin with those employed in the Republican party of Richard Nixon. The people were jailed and Nixon was impeached as a direct result of that which was confirmed in the infamous Nixon Whitehouse tapes. Improvement: NO. That is NOT true. Nixon was NOT impeached, you dumb people. He RESIGNED. God.
Alkexander Butterfield, a White House staffer, told the Senate Watergate Committee about the existence of the taping system.
So far as know, there are no connections to Mexico in the Watergate affair.
Well, a great many things, but he stood up in front of the cameras and famously denied everything about the Watergate scandal and said "I am not a crook!" And then the tapes proved he ordered the break-in and in fact WAS a crook. Nixon was a little before my time, but my understanding is that he wasn't a terrible president aside from the big scandal. He wasn't great or anything, but if not for Watergate he most likely would have been remembered as an average to above average president. Closing the gold window was idiotic, but he founded the EPA, made the gestures to China that opened them to trade with the west, and did a great many other things. Like I said - mixed bag. But he's only remembered for Watergate.
In 1973-4 he sat on Senate Committee that investigated Watergate. He is famous for asking aloud "What did the President know and When did he know it.

I think not. It is difficult to know for sure. He knew fairly soon after the burglars were arrested, I think.
I don't know what you mean by "went over" but the president in office (who eventually resigned) was Richard M. Nixon.
Richard Nixon resigns from office, as he was spying on the Democrats during the election, which was illegal. That's all I know. :)

i don't know. i'd probably say no, regarding Nixon's impeachment following watergate.
Let's hear it from the man himself: "You won't have Nixon to kick around anymore because, gentlemen, this is my last press conference". --Nixon concession speech "The greatest honor history can bestow is the title of peacemaker"--Nixon's epitaph "People have got to know whether or not their President is a crook. Well, I'm not a crook. I've earned everything I've got." --Nixon about Watergate
I don't think so and it was never proven that he did. His big mistake was trying to cover it up when he did find out about it.

You are probably fishing for Richard Nixon. Acts of political espionage committed by his re-election committee lead to the Watergate scandal that caused him to resign as President. He was not personally involved in the sabotage and probably did not even know it was going on, but he did attempt to cover it up once it came to light.
A free press is very important in a democracy. The public needs to know the various things that are going on in government and investigators keep politicians honest by the investigation of stories and rumors. Without the efforts of investigation of the Watergate break in Nixon would have gotten away with his sending the men into the democratic offices.
