Ruby and sapphire both were made in 2003, firered and leafgreen both were made 2004 and emerald was made in 2005. So to answer your question yes ruby and sapphire were made before firered and leafgreen though firered and leafgreen are based on the original red and blue version so if you want to get technical firered and leafgreen where made first. But in reality ruby and sapphire were made first.
