This is not a simple question, the aditional information you need is on the differences between the afectation of the Gregorian calendar reform, in 1582. In this refornm catholic countries adjust their calendar, taking 10 days off, passing from tuesday october 4th to wedneday october 15th. England do not adjust it until many years later, so, even whe the date was the same, Cervantes died 10 days before. It is amazing anyway that to greatest writers died the same date, even when not the same day. Ruben Nohuitol

What happened on the date of Shakespeare's death?

Miguel de Cervantes died on the same date as Shakespeare, but not on the same day. They both died on April 23, 1616, but Cervantes died in Spain where they used the Gregorian calendar, and Shakespeare died in England where they used the Julian calendar. April 23 happened 10 days earlier in Spain, so Cervantes died 10 days before Shakespeare, even though they died on the same date.

What did William still do growing up?

William Shakespeare was both the oldest son and oldest surviving child of John Shakespeare and Mary Arden Shakespeare. His birth date is generally given as 23 April 1564, although the actual date is not certain. The date given is calculated upon what in the Elizabethan Age was a more important landmark, his christening upon 26 April of the same year. Christenings were carefully recorded in the church records, as indeed was the case for Shakespeare as the registry of Holy Trinity Church at Stratford-Upon-Avon demonstrates. Since most children were baptised within the first several days of their birth (due to the high infant mortality rate), Shakespeare's birthdate on St. George's Day is an estimation at best, and one most likely figured for poetic considerations since popular lore claims he died fifty-two years later on that very birthday, 23 April 1616. Few sources pay attention to the fact that the dates are figured on the Old Style or Julian calendar, rather than our New Style Gregorian calendar, which would technically set the dates at 3 May 1564- 3 May 1616. The common dates given are always 23 April 1564 - 23 April 1616. this bit i am not sure about but i think he was writting plays, poemws and books but i am not sure.
