Tolkien purists are infinitely more intelligent, thoughtful, and have more refined tastes than "Trekkies," Star Wars fanatics, Harry Potter geeks, Twi-hards, and any other fandom fans you can come up with. Tolkien purists even have the self-endowed right to look down their/our noses on movie-only fans (Unworthy of the name of Tolkien fans), bad fanfiction authors (Disgraceful!), and canon deviants in fanfiction (What in Arda Marred...).
