NO! It is stupid and they don't get those little girls anywhere in life other then a lot of pictures in there rooms. Most of them say they want to help the poor children that don't have food or a family but how many of them actually do that? NONE!
There is no hard and fast answer to that question. Typically there are many good and positive things that can be gained by entering a competition that is a good fit. All systems are not the same, some focus only on facial beauty and fitness (those would obviously not be a good fit for a girl who struggles with weight and isn't blessed with classical beauty). However this same girl might find great success competing in a pageant that focuses on Modeling, Attire, and Confidence, and a very small segment of the score is allocated to "Beauty". These systems are known as "complete package" systems, and are typically most forgiving.

usually you can enter them in some online. just go to Google or Bing and search" child beauty pageants" and there will be some websites with open pageants. or, if you are on a mail order list, sometimes pageant directors send out fliers to attract more contestants. that's how my child started pageants, and now she loves them. i also enter her in pageants through the Internet.

It depends on which pageant you are attending. You usually are allowed to be on stage for 90 seconds, but for other pageants you might be able to do your routine on stage to possibly 2 minutes or more.

Many people believe beauty pageants are exploitive by using them as a means of marketing humans to make money. Others think pageants serve to teach contestants to concentrate on their appearance more than anything else and that this will cause psychological and emotional problems if the contestants see themselves as not pretty enough or thin enough, tall enough, too tall, too thin, etc.
