Since science is conducted on the continent by governments representing 80% of the earth's population, you could probably find a job with a government other than the United States. Citizenship in that country may be a requirement for employment, however. Or, you could have a specialized skill or expertise that a particular scientific question required in order to be investigated, in which case your citizenship in your country must be in good standing.
Security clearances, background checks, drug tests, physical exams and for winter-over personnel, a psychological evaluation, may all be required.
