Another word for Stocks is Equities; another word for Bonds is Fixed Income. Other words for stocks are shares, investments, and issue. Other words for bonds are sureties, securities, promise to pay, collateral, earnest, guaranty, and asset.

Income Stocks
For many brokers and commodities dealers, income is based on a salary and on commissions from the sale or purchase of stocks, bonds, or futures contracts.

Common stock is riskier than bonds. Common stock fluctuates in price as a matter of course. Bonds tell you What they will pay, When they will pay it and For How Long they will pay it. Assuming the company doesn't go into default, bonds are safe. (The risk of bonds is that companies DO go into default, which is why bonds are rated.)
Not until you take it out of the traditional IRA. The one exception would be taxes on what is called "Unrelated Business Income." If you are investing in stocks, bonds, mutual funds, insurance policies, annuities, or bank accounts and your IRA is not borrowing money, you don't have to worry about this.
