It also occurred to me that Mr. Trump falls somewhere on the autism spectrum. When one reads the symptoms in adults (lack of empathy, great attention to detail, tactile hypersensitivity, difficulty managing conflict), it seems at least within the realm of possibility.

No, there is no evidence of it. On the other hand, there have been a few very high-profile celebrities over the years who have noted they had communication or behavioral problems in childhood, symptoms that conform to certain elements of Autism Spectrum Disorders such as Asperger's Syndrome. People with this disorder are extremely bright, yet they have great difficulty getting along with others, problems showing (and understanding) emotion, and problems reading facial and emotional cues that others display. Still, while Mr. Trump is a controversial figure, it is unlikely that autism or autism spectrum disorders are the cause of his behaviors.

No, Donald Trump is more likely to have narcissistic personality disorder. For example, Trump is very good at manipulating the emotions and feelings of his audience, whereas those with Asperger's Syndrome tend to have difficulty understanding people's emotions. Trump responds to criticism as if it were hatred, having even 'called out' people for their hatred of him, showing how much Trump values his ego over other moral values. Further, people with Aspergers tend to have very set ways of doing things, whereas Trump shows a flexibility for procedure and overall disdain of rules that might constrain him.
