In the movie, Ellie is running away from her problems (ie Her father is in the hospital, sick, after returning from war in Afghanistan) and she runs into Craig in Hollywood and hangs out with him, yet again falling in love. Then Craig's model girlfriend comes home and Ellie is heart broken so she takes a bottle of alcohol and drinks it at Paige's Hollywood birthday party when Craig comes to apologize, but she doesn't want anything to do with him, so she leaves. Then later on the beach, she is still drinking and is about to commit suicide by drowning herself but Craig and Marco stop her just in time. She stays at Craig's to sleep and decides that it is time to stop running from what really matters so she goes home the next day. Craig drops her off at the air port and she walks away, but then both run back and kiss before she finally goes to see her dad at the hospital. Her spot in the show ends with her at the hospital, hugging her dad as she cries.
