Yes, guinea pigs live from about 6-8 years hamsters only about 5.
---------------known from experience-------------------
Guinea pigs tend to live longer, up to 8-10 years with very good care. Hamsters in most cases live to 3 years, but can live longer with excellent care, as above^^^^^^^^^^^ :)
A hamster is much more faster than guinea pigs. They are nocturnal, that means they are active at night. Guinea pigs are a little more "laid back and relaxed". But it really depends on what breed. Like, abbysinian guinea pigs are faster than your average American shorthair. Did you know, that hamsters can run in their little wheels up to 8miles at night! Hope this helped!
Guinea Pigs live longer than Dwarf Hamsters.
the average lifespan of a hamster is around 1-2 years, but there are many hamsters that can live longer than that.
A guinea pig may cost a little more than a hamster.
i think a guinea pig's hearing is better than a hamster's because i tried to sneak up to my guinea pig but when i saw my guinea pig it was staring straight at me like it knew i was there already. i once owned a hamster and they did not notice me very often as much as guinea pigs. ;D
guinea pigs are great pets...i have two. they live from 5-7 years old. they're a bit bigger than hamsters
Your question is not very clear. Do you mean of the same type of hamster? e.g are bigger syrians likely to live longer than smaller syrians,or are syrians likely to live longer than dwarfs or Russians for instance?
I don't think that is possible... She may just be a fat hamster.
The average for a hamster is about 2-2 1/2 but they can live to about 3 years in exceptional cases!
Guinea pigs is a lot bigger than hamsters. A hamster is about the length of one baseball while an adult guinea pig is about the size of three baseballs. In fact, if you place food in front of a grown guinea pig, it can stretch itself to the length of a foot with ease. A hamster wouldn't stretch to that length, not even when forced.
To buy initially, yes. Long term depends on if you buy your hamster fun exciting cages and toys. They can get pretty expensive. Guinea pigs don't need fancy stuff.
NO! please do not attempt to put them together. The guinea pig will more than likely try to kill/eat the hamster.
