Does a rug pad really extend the life of your area rug?
Yes. As rugs are walked on, they are ground into the hard floor which makes the rug wear faster, especially in areas of high traffic. In a good quality rug, you may not notice the difference in a rug that has had a pad and a rug that hasn't until they are 50+ years old. In older rugs and in flat-weave rugs, the difference will be seen much sooner. When shopping for a pad, get something that is thick and rubber on one side and rough wool on the other. Opt for purchasing rug pad from a rug store as opposed to a linens or hardware store, as this will actually promote better wear. The other pads are usually just to prevent skidding.

It shouldn't be done. Carpet underlay is usually to thick and flexible and won't provide the needed support under the laminate. It will flex too much causing it to break apart…. you should check on the box what type of underlay is recommended for that specific product. There are as many types of underlay as there are laminates.
A rug pad is not mandatory. However, if placing a large rug on wood or tile floors, the pad will protect the floor underneath from spills and dirt being ground in. It will als…o protect the underside of the rug from wearing out. Additionally, it will cushion the rug, and keep it in place. If you are placing a large rug on a carpet, no rug pad is necessary.

A runner rug is typically used in narrow spaces such as hallwaysand stairs. This is the reason the length is usually much greaterthan the width. Area rugs are used in the cent…er of a room orfurniture having more of a square shape. Also a runner rug willusually compliment an area rug. The area of runnerrug is smaller than the area of an area rug. You can use area rugin the living room, bed room dining room etc. but you cannot userunner at these place. The length of runner is always greater thanthe width of runner for example, 2'x6', 5'x10' (width x length)etc. You can use runner in the corridor, kitchen, entry way etc.Regularly the size of area rugs are 2x3 ft, 4x6 ft, 5x8 ft, 5x7ft,6x9 ft , 8x10 ft, 9x12 ft.
How to Get Fold Marks or Wrinkles Out of a Rug Often times new rugs from the dealer, or rugs that have been rolled or folded for storage may not return to their or…iginal intended shape when first laid (even over a pad). Many larger rugs have been barrel rolled - a method of folding and rolling to make them more compact for easier handling and delivery. These folds are caused by the foundation yarns being stretched while folded or rolled. Although most will release over time, there are ways to accelerate this process. And wrinkles in an area rug are not only an eyesore, but can be a tripping hazard as well. Here are 5 Suggestions to get the Creases and Fold Marks out of a rug! Use any single one, or a combination of several! 1. Back-roll or reverse roll the carpet. This is the easiest way to deal with a rug that does not lay flat. Fold the rug in the opposite direction it curls or creases. Be careful! If you hear cracking noises stop immediately. That means the backing is dry rotted! 2. Place heavy furniture or weight on the rug. This should accelerate the settling time at least two fold. 3. Wait for the rug to settle on it's own: allow the rug to sit open for several weeks and it should naturally release tension from a hard roll or fold especially in higher humidity environments. 4. Place the rug up-side-down outdoors under the sun on a clean, dry surface in temperatures between 70-85 degrees Fahrenheit. Direct sunlight for several hours should help the rug release tension naturally and at the very least make it more supple for reverse-rolling as noted in suggestion 1. As a last resort . . . 5. Hire a professional rug cleaning company to "steam" the rug with a steamer or truck mount and dry it on an air table. Be sure they check for color fastness first!
If you ask will the rug wear well and last a long time then, yes it will, but the manufacture of the rug is not so friendly at all to the environment. I would also remin…d you that you are likely to grow tired of the same rug year after year. Consider cotton or wool.
Rug which covers a part of floor called area rug.
Many times it's best to lay it out flat with objects holding down the edges once you gently stretched it out. A couple of days, and with use it will lay flat. If that doe…sn't work, sometimes dampening the rug and then laying it out will cause the wrinkles to come out.
You can, but it is not really ever cost effective to do so. A good rug pad has a lifespan of about 5 years. By the time it needs cleaning, it probably will no longer have its …non-skid properties and not be worth cleaning anyway. Also, cleaning a rug pad is usually more expensive than just replacing it.

do you mean rug as in carpet. These dimenstions are usually expressed is length x width, which is an area. There are also instances where a rug is expressed in terms of length… x width x thickness, may be something to do with the manufacturing process
