Probably not - as you are probably not paying into the system.

Your best bet is to apply for private short term disability before getting pregnant. If you are a 1099 contractor, you can get coverage via payroll deduction through your 1099 payor - you just have to ask the right way.

This could be tough. You are probably not paying into the state SDI program, so you may not be entitled to benefits. Being self employed you also do not have FMLA protections.

Your best bet is to purchase private short term disability insurance before getting pregnant. These policies are available in California.

Nobody will force you to take maternity leave. CA is one of only five states with mandated short term disability coverage. Your maternity leave for normal delivery is a covered benefit. You have a benefit that replaces a portion of your income. Why not take advantage?
