No. The Bible presents God as eternally self-existent. The nature of that existence is largely incomprehensible to us, His creations. We know Him through His works--"In the beginning, God created..."--and through His revelation of what we can comprehend in The Bible. That revelation is related to His purpose of redeeming individuals who will spend eternity learning about Him--and loving it.

The basic answer to this question is No. As to answer who God is, they never do. As stated in the other answer, the origin of God is never stated.

Another View:

God is eternal, without beginning or end; therefore, the word "origin" does not apply. The Hebrew god are invented by man to liken his own image. If there are proofs to the existence of the Hebrew god, then you won't be asking this question. We will all accept that god is a fact and not a wishful thinking.

Another View:

The Bible says that "I am the Alpha and Omega." That means that HE is infinite and it is practically not possible to fit an infinite quantity into our finite minds. Many facts in life don't have proofs. (for. eg. we can't see electrons and protons, current flow, atoms, etc...)

Another View:

The Bible neither proves the existence of God nor question the existence of God. It says simply, God, in the beginning brought forth everything into existence out of nothing. That is what is called creation and hence He is creator. He creates, recreates, forms and makes. Bible begins with God and ends with God. It affirms the existence of God. He continues to work in the history. No, because the first words of the Bible are "In the beginning..." and it never says anything about the origin of God in the entire first chapter. ==

Another View:

It states that God is eternal. This does not mean that he 'has been around for all time' and 'will be around for all time'. 'Eternal' actually means 'existing outside of time', i.e. God existing outside of our experience of time. This explains why prayers to God do not 'stack up' in a waiting list; it explains why, at Creation (or the 'Big bang' as scientists have called it) time also needed to be created (as confirmed by Einstein's Special Relativity Theory, and by Stephen Hawking); it explains why miracles can happen as God is not constrained by the laws of cause and effect as we are. In fact, His eternality explains a great deal about God! Now this idea of 'being outside of time' is not unscientific. Einstein, through his Special Theory of Relativity, predicted (correctly, incidentally as this has been proved since) that, as objects approach the speed of light, time for them actually slows down. At the speed of light, time stops. So, if you were able to ride a light beam (fat chance!) then time would be meaningless to you - you would exist outside of time and be eternal. So light is eternal. So are gamma rays, radio waves, X rays, Infra Red waves, Ultra Violet waves, Micro waves and so on as all these belong to the same electromagnetic spectrum and all travel at the speed of light. Therefore, the concept of eternality - being outside of time - is common in the scientific world. WNote, however, that whilst a light beam is outside time, it can still interact with us who are 'in' time, just as God can interact with us through prayer and worship. Therefore, if God is eternal, and outside time, he has no beginning nor end, and to ask as such is like saying 'where is the beginning to a circle' - a circle is a figure that goes round and round without an end or a beginning. Just like Eternal God. "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." -- Genesis 1:1 "I [am] the first, I also [am] the last. Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens" -- Isaiah 48:13

"... saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him." -- Zechariah 12:1

"For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether [they be] thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist." -- Colossians 1:16-17

Answer:

  • No. However, the Bible is our Human Manual, if you really want to know

who God is then Read the Book of Psalms. I came across Psalms 90, Psalms 91 that litterally speaks to you as you read through it and speaks of how amazing God truly is.

If you are truly wanting to know about God, I suggest of getting a Concordance as it guides you through reading the Bible:

  • God
  • God as a Spirit
  • God & His Attributes
  • God & His Character
  • God & His Glory
  • God & His Goodness
  • God & His Gifts
  • God & His Joy Over His People
  • God & His Laws
  • God & His Names

As you develop a sense of who God is, you will continue asking God for guidance, I guarentee it. Blessings.

Another View:

Yes, God does tell us where He comes from. There are three realms of existence. There is a spiritual realm, a heavenly realm, and an earthly realm. God left the spritual realm after He made His Creation (Heaven and Earth).

The power of Darkness pursued Him (Genesis 1:1), where God had the right to deal with him decisively (Genesis 1).
