No it does not work. I tried it for a couple months and it did not detangle my hair, it did make it a little less frizzy, but it did not make it "healthier". And yes I was using it right. Being a light skinned part African American I have very frizzy curly hair I tried it as an after the shower thing too but it just made my hair hard like a gel and took out some of the curl. If you really want to hydrate your hair I would recommend the olive oil replenishing conditioner. Most of the time it detangles my hair and makes it soft and manageable so I don't have to use detangler after the shower. Or I would try the All Soft conditioner from Redken which also makes my hair extra soft. I'm sure it would work fine on white people hair who already have nice hair but for me it did not work and just made my scalp super cold after the shower.
I still do have to put more product on my hair to make sure it doesn't frizz and make it shiny and soft. And if you have curly frizzy hair I would recommend AG detail creme and after it drys I would put on paul mitchell super skinny serum to make it soft and shiny.
