It drives the alternator, power steering, and ac compressor.
It is under the dash on the driver side. It is on the backside of the dash fuse panel.
You have an open connection from the large alternator output post to the starter main battery post or fuses blown or circuits open feeding the alternator control wiring.
May be the Voltage controller circuit. Control the voltage for charging, and cut off when full charged.
Short answer, under the hood. 1. What year is it? Early model AMC Jeeps like my 87, had the voltage regulator in the alternator, later Chrysler Jeeps have it in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), aka, engine computer, and is not serviceable. 2. The alternator is on the passenger side of the motor, down low, basically under the battery.
It means that the alternator is not charging the battery or there's a short in the charging system or PCM is bad and needs to be replace
Either the alternator/regulator has situation dependant problems such as opens with heat or vibrational malfunctions or there is a problem with an internal charging control in the engine computer
CAUTION!!! This may be a problem with the alternator and the charging. Blower fan will stop working if alternator is not charging. You may also see the battery light and brake light staying on as well! Advance Auto Parts or Auto-zone can test your alternator/battery.
It shuts down the voltage to the primary coil on the distributor, power to fuel injectors, and fuel pump also.
the temp control switch is duff... its the big nut lookin thang next to the thermostat housing
It is bolted to the floor under the center console. It is bolted to the floor under the center console.
It means the charging system voltage (is) too low, Check the alternator and the voltage regulator. The voltage regulator is a part of the powertrain control module or PCM.
