The most likely answer is that the Blower Motor Resistor has failed, it's a very common problem.

A dealer will charge you about $160.00 for the repair.

However, it's an easy fix. The new resistor card will cost between $27.00 - £50.00 depending on where you buy. I paid £29.00 at O'Rielly's Auto Parts and did the job this morning in 20 minutes.

You will need an 8mm socket (a magnetic socket is preferable), a small flat bladed screwdriver a ratchet and extension, a file, a mirror, a flashlight, between 10-20 minutes and some patience.

Pull back the passenger seat as far as possible. Under the dashboard in the passenger foot well you will find a molded cover. Remove it. Some are held in place by a push pin, some by a tinny cheap nut as was mine. I used a spark plug socket to remove it, because, unhelpfully, it's on a long, pointles plastic post.

Use the mirror and flashlight for improved visibility if you can't squash your head and shoulders into the space, it's pretty tight.

Follow the wires from the blower motor. You will see they lead to the resistor plug, held in place by two 8mm nuts. Remove them and the card will slide out.

The resistor card will unclip after you use the screwdriver to remove a red plastic tab that holds the clip in place. It annoying and useless. You may have to pry the plug off using the screwdriver even after getting the tab out.

The chances are that the new card will not fit into the slot, the design has been upgraded from the original part since failure was so common. Use the file to enlarge the slot, being careful to remove all debris.

Replace the card - easier if you have a magnetic socket, it stops the screws from falling out as you try to get them to bite.

Replace the cover, and job done.

Good luck with your repair.
