Has any women ever won the Indianapolis 500 race?
As of 2017, no women has won the Indy 500 race. Only Danica Patrick has got closest of finishing 3rd during the 2009.

No, to my knowledge Dale Sr. never sat down in an open wheel racecar for any type of competitive race. The Indy 500 also takes place on the same day as the Coca Cola 600 and t…here have been only a small number of people compete in both. (Tony Stewart, Robby Gordon, & John Andretti are the only ones I can think of) Answer He had raced at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, in the "Brickyard 400" NASCAR race. But never in the "Indianapolis 500" Indy car race.
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway was founded by Carl Fisher in 1906,and the first Indianapolis 500 Mile Race was held in 1911.
