Here is the response I got when asking why the Lays and Ruffles Light products are no longer on any shelf anywhere near me:

Thank you for taking the time to write to us. I'm sorry that Lay's Light Original and Ruffles Light Original are not available in your area any longer and cannot be ordered directly. However, I'm advising our sales and marketing teams of your interest in this product.

When you take into account the tremendous variety of consumer preferences, not every product does equally well and may not be available everywhere.
