In the past several decades, there have been individual cases of reporters who used these kinds of unethical methods in an attempt to gather news or get tips, including listening to the messages on someone's answering machine without their knowledge; but such actions are not common, and if caught, they can get the reporter fired. Also, there have been a few cases where companies tried to spy on reporters, in an effort to find out what they were working on and prevent a negative story from being published. And it should be noted that the "Fox" that is in trouble for phone-hacking and spying is the Rupert Murdoch operation in England. There is no evidence that any American FoxNews anchors or reporters have hacked anyone's phones.
Yes most probably
no he did defernatley not
For phones that have been "jailbroken" (hacked without the manufacturer's authorization), there isn't a highly trusted source. For unlocked phones sold by the manufacturer, Amazon is a good place to look.
Phones can be hacked many ways. One of the oldest hackings is through FlexiSpy. FlexiSpy, records your calls, then directs them onto someone else, who then can hack into you data. Accessing voicemails is another method. To be honest, it's a "sly mans" occupation. The hackers can get all sorts of information, including where you made the call, the time and who it is.
Hacking is ILLEGAL - with severe penalties WHEN (not IF) you get caught - We in the Wiki community will NOT help you break the law !
By the newspaper that was guilty of doing so paying those that had their 'phones hacked many thousands of ponds. The newspaper also ceased publication.
That depends on your definition of hacking. But usually anything can be hacked from computers, networks, servers, websites, phones, coca cola machines, apparantly they have figured out how to hack coffee machines...
When you say "unlocked phones" I am assuming you are talking about phones that have been hacked into. The Apple iPhone can be unlocked using an App called Handbreak. It lets you modify your phone beyond what Apple allows. If you unlock your phone, there is a good chance that the warranty on your phone will be void. I do not recommend to unlock it.
People do not tend topay attention to their surroundings and who is around them when involved in phone conversation - easy victims.
I believe a disconnected cell phone can be used to dial 911 in the US.There are women's shelters that take donated phones to give to abuse victims who can't afford to pay for a phone of their own, it's a help line they can carry with them, if they need to call 911.

Domestic violence centers accept old cell phones. They give them to victims for calling 911. The Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation takes donations of old cell phones to help fund corrective eye surgery. Their website says:"Please partner with the Lighthouse??s Cells for Sight. With your help we can reach our goal of 100,000 cell phones! Contact your local Lions Club or the Lighthouse at: 404.325.3630 or 1.800.718.7483 To learn how your company/organization can join in this fight against blindness!"
