They have 2 eyes, and 10 legs. They use the back 8 legs to move, and THEIR left (bigger) claw for fighting and climbing. They use their right one for eating mainly. They also have a shell, which is their home. They will move to a slightly bigger shell once they are have got grown alittle, or they have molted.

∙ 13y agoBecause since they are kind of hermits for living and often hiding in their shells, they are called hermit crabs. But, they aren't anything else like hermits besides that.

∙ 14y agoWell hermit crabs need to be in their natural habitate not in a cage and they never even see their crabs once they are hatched they lay a LOT of small eggs then just walk away.
