as someone who formerly worked with beryllium oxide there is a blood test known as beryllium lymphocyte proliferation test (BeLPT) the test is given to workers a few time a year. this is not an exact test but can help with a diagnosis and for monitoring current workers. there are also other symptons caused by beryllium such as nodule formation and a few unknown effects.
