OH on the barrel? that's not the serial. If it's early probably July 1961.
Find the serial number and google the Remington sight. They should have records of when the weapon was produced.

You can call Remington at 1-800-243-9700 and go thru the menu selection. One of the menu options is to request information on your Remington based off the serial number. You read off your serial number and the guy looks up in the database the year the gun was made and what the original barrel was for that gun (if gun had barrel options like shotguns do).

It's date code stamped on the left side of the barrel in front of the receiver, check the Remington Society of America for location diagram and chart.

Manufactured: 1947, value dependent on condition. I bought a model 121 fieldmaster brand new in 1954 and they were supposed to be the first hammerless pump . I do not know what year they originated but , now you know it was at least in 1954 or before . Wish I could pinpoint it better for you but you now have a jumping in point.
