You better buy two remotes because if you loose or break one you still can use the car. The alarm shuts down the injection system and ( for the good part) can not be started. you can disconnect the horns to shut it up but there is no way that uou will start it. Don't try replacing the engine controller, it won't work unless it is programed by the dealer. That is why it has a anti-theft system.
