My freshman year is drawing to a close and it was a tough year, but rewarding. There are times when you are on overload with homework, work and other responsibilities, but it is all worth it. With the right tools (such as time management, self discipline and organization) much of the stress can be reduced if not done away, with keeping you from becoming overwhelmed. Taking time for fun is also an important aspect of staying afloat. Those weeks where i did nothing fun for myself were always the ones where i felt the most overwhelmed.
High school is much less structured environment than Junior high or Middle school (depending on where you live)
When you go to High school your time is not structured every minute, things like spare periods, self directed study time, being responsible for getting projects done and not being monitored every minute allow some students to loose direction.
Unfortunately this is a part of life and a necessary step to adult hood.
My freshmen year at college was not good at all at all.
