Because when a Pharoah dies his eldest son becomes heir to the throne. King Tut became pharoah at only nine years old, so he had his uncle to advise him. He only lasted 9 years until he died. He was killed by his wife, Ankhesenamun. :))
The other pharaoh died and as a result of this the only hier to the old paraoh was a young boy of 9 and so he became Pharaoh. Many myths and legends have came from this boy and not many have been proved as it was a long time ago.
