How did William Shakespeare write so many unique plays What was his method of writing?

We do not know much about Shakespeare's method of writing. We know that for the most part he got his ideas from books he had read or plays he had seen. Often he used words from his sources in his plays. Once he had the idea of the story, he tweaked it by changing the characters and making them more believable, as well as adding subplots and other complications to keep the story interesting. It is said that he did not rewrite things very often, which suggests that he worked out in his head what was going to happen before he started to write. He must have done because most of the plays show signs of a rigorous and orderly structure, based around a climactic event sometime in Act 3. At least his later plays show a sensitivity to the pacing of the play as it would be performed, as well as a consciousness of what all the actors on stage are doing at any given time. However much he may have written the plays in one draft, he did revise and change them later as is shown by the two very different versions of King Lear and the differences between the Folio and Second Quarto Hamlets. Shakespeare was also, from the start of his career, interested in subverting formulaic writing. Thus in Titus Andronicus, he is not satisfied with one revenge tragedy but piles an even more horrific one on top of it. In Love's Labour's Lost, he deliberately flouts the convention that everyone should pair off and marry at the end of a comedy. "Our wooing doth not end like an old play; Jack hath not Jill" says Berowne. Throughout his career he was always trying out new techniques, which is why his plays are so varied.
