She has died once before, but she was reborn by the phoenix force, an all powerful cosmic being that is known to destroy planets. She died a second time, but I'm not sure how. It is revealed that she created a holemopathic matrix crystal for her less powerful daughter, Rachel Summers, and imprinted it with her essence so that, no matter what happened to her physically, her soul would always be with her.

Yes cyclops COULD kill wolverine but he would need an adimantium blade to chop off wolverines head. that's probably the only way wolverine can die (because of his healing factor). I don't think cyclops would win in that fight though. Wolverine has proved time and time again that he is one of the most deadliest mutant. Ex. First, he heals fast, so anything that you do to him will be repaired. sometimes it takes seconds, sometimes its overnight BUT HE ALWAYS HEALS. Second, ever since his bones were covered with adimantium he can cut through anything while nothing can (completely) cut through him UNLESS the cutting tool is also adimantium. Cyclops' optic laser beam is powerful but it cannot cut through wolverines bones. In my opinion, especially after reading 'Old Man Logan' , IF it came down to it, I think wolverine would win quickly. And if you haven't read Old Man Logan (written by mark miller and some other guy) here's a big spoiler alert Wolverine kills all the x-men in one night. Gambit, Storm, Jubilee, Iceman, Nightcrawler, and yes, CYCLOPS. He kills all of them but I wont tell you why. Grab the comic at your local store and read it!!! Its a quick read but its the best solo-comic I've read and its one of the best books I've ever read and I read alot.

Wolverine has killed Jean Grey in a number of different forms of media, ranging from comics to films.

In the comics, one of the most noted ways he tried to kill her was when Logan and Jean were trapped on Asteroid M headed straight for the sun, after Magneto decided to destroy it rather than have his evil deeds known. He didn't want her to suffer with him, so he stabbed her in her abdomen. This caused her to transform into Phoenix and save them both. This was in New X-Men #148.Also, in Phoenix Endsong #3, a wounded part of the Phoenix makes its way into Jean so it can heal itself. Jean feels it beginning to take hold and asks Wolverine to stab her repeatedly, as it was supposed to weaken the Phoenix. He kills her no less than six times, disemboweling her each time, but it succeeds and Jean is able to regain her control over Phoenix.

Arguably the best known use of Wolverine murdering Jean is in the 2006 film X-Men: The Last Stand. In this version of the Dark Phoenix saga, there is no separate entity for Phoenix, but it's rather a separate personality inside of Jean, caused by blockades Charles Xavier erected inside of her mind to slow the rate of her powers' growth. This caused a split personality, one the lovable doctor Jean Grey, and the other the vicious, psychopathic, uncontrollable Phoenix. When it becomes clear on Alcatraz island that the Jean they all knew is gone, the only choice becomes to kill her. Jean herself gains control of her mind from Phoenix, allowing for just enough time for Logan to stab her through the gut, killing her.
