Australian 1 and 2 cent coins are still legal tender, but you may have a lot of trouble convincing a shopkeeper of that.

You should be able to take them to a bank at which you are a customer and have them exchanged for the equivalent value in current coins.

You might like to keep a few for your grandkids.

May I just add that some charities are pleased to receive coins of any country, to sell on to dealers and raise some money. Worth going to local charity shops and checking.
