How do demographers figure out population growth.?

Demographers figure out population growth by comparing birth rates and death rates.

What do demographers compare to figure out population growth?

Birth rates and death rates

What are factors that help predict population growth rates?

Birth Rates, Growth Rates, and Something else

What is the model of population growth that states the growth rate remains constant because birth and death rates are equal?

The model of population growth that states the growth rate remains constant because birth and death rates are equal is called zero population growth or ZPG. In this scenario, the population size does not increase or decrease over time due to the balance between births and deaths.

High birth rates and falling death rates would cause which demographic trend?

rapid population growth

The demographic transition model describes changes in?

Birth rates, death rates, and population growth over time.

Which factor does not affect population growth?

One factor that does not directly affect population growth is the color of the sky. Population growth is typically influenced by factors such as birth rates, death rates, immigration, and emigration.

When will a populations growth slow down?

A population's growth will slow down when birth rates decrease or death rates increase. Factors such as improved access to education, healthcare, and family planning methods can contribute to a decline in birth rates, while factors like disease outbreaks or limited resources can increase death rates, both of which can slow down population growth.

How birth rates and death rates influence the size of a population?

If birth rates exceed death rates, the population increases proportionally. If death rates exceed birth rates, the population decreases.

How are birth and death rates accounted for in the exponential population growth equation?

The r value in the exponential equation is the rate of natural increase expressed as a percentage (birth rate - death rate). So the math includes the birth rate and the death rate when implementing the equation. Students may have a hard time understanding that population growth is controlled not only by birth and death rates but also by the present population. The mathematics of exponential growth govern the prediction of population growth. Your welcome Ms. Musselma...'s class.

In the first stage of the demographic transition both birth rates and death rates are high?

Yes, in the first stage of the demographic transition, both birth rates and death rates are high, resulting in a stable population size. This is typically seen in pre-industrial societies where high birth rates compensate for high death rates, leading to minimal population growth.

True or false the logistic model of population growth assumes that birth and death rates are constant?

False it is not constant
