Germany has a very modern transportation infrastructure. Besides the autobahn for vehicles, the Rhine River is a major mode of transportation along with air travel and their high speed train network. Many cities also have rapid transit systems.
It's very hard to find a vehicle that can hold up to more than 5-8 people. They mostly drive smaller cars and take trains. There are also local buses. Also, there are airplanes of course that will take very long distances. However most like to walk long distances.
Hope it helped! :D
