They have a closed, well developed, circulatory system but no real heart. Nephrostomes, or small pore-like openings along the skin which lead to coelomic fluids, transport fluids. The nephridioducts absorb wanted materials, and the nephridiopores expel waste. This maintains the annelid's proper homeostasis.

Arthropods have exoskeletons. Apart from using this feature for protection, they use it to maintain homeostasis by molting it periodically in order for their exterior to fit their body.
