The trees and plants affect biodiversity by attracting and housing animals and other living things. The living things produce the nutrients that make the plants grow. The insects on the other hand carry the pollen.

Deforestation is affecting biodiversity because when mankind destroys the forests, all the wildlife in the area have to adapt dramatically and usually fail. They can't go anywhere else because there IS nowhere else to go to. Therefore, all the animals eventually die.
