Huskies require weekly grooming (if you have difficulty with a brush, try using a comb) and daily grooming when they 'blow their coat'. Coat blowing typically happens twice a year and is exactly how it sounds, the husky will shed the entirety of its undercoat to make room for a new one.

They are working dogs so will need a lot of regular exercise, running with a husky or getting into joring is great way to help your husky get through its energy. Typically our husky will be run for 3-4 miles in the morning, have outside access all day and also enjoy a 3 mile walk in the evening.

If you plan to let your husky use your garden/yard, you must supervise them. Huskies are very good at jumping and tunnelling and will escape given half a chance. A six foot high fence is definitely recommended, preferably with concrete foundations that can't be tunnelled under.

If you live somewhere where it gets hot during the summer (over 20C), you need to make sure your husky has a cool place to relax in during the day and make sure you are up early enough to exercise it before the day gets too hot.

Huskies are pack animals so they need companionship, it doesn't matter if that is in the form of other dogs or humans, but you just can't leave a lone husky alone for long.
