If you want. but why? Go fix your hood latch. or if you are running Carbon Fiber/Fiberglass hood then use a cable, not a chain. Race companies use specific hood latches and locks to hold on the CF/FG hood to prevent the breakage of the hood at high speeds.

Are carbon fiber hoods illegal?
You would need to research the question in the state where you live, but I can see no reason that they should be. They might be illegal if they are formed in such a way as to block vision, but otherwise they serve the same function as the factory hood.
