To do division in Excel you use the front slash character. You can click on the cell you want the formula in, and then you can type it like:
=B1/E4
This will divide the amount in B1 by the amount in E4.

That is why it is on the Numeric keypad on a computer, along with the * for multiplication and the plus and minus signs. The front slash is also known as the solidus. To divide 10 by 5 you would type the following formula.
