Open the calendar application. Find the event you want to erase and touch it. On the Event Details screen touch the word Edit. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the entry. You will find a red bar labeled Delete Event. Touch Delete Event. You will be asked to do this twice. If it is a recurring event you must select whether you want to delete all future occurrences of this event or just the current one.
